Existing sublocations in Finale can be updated using the bulk import tool. This involves creating a spreadsheet data table of the locations and sublocations you'd like to update, copying/pasting the data into Finale's bulk import tool, and then finishing the upload process, per the steps, below.
To view existing sublocations: Application Settings > Facility.
Access the bulk import tool
New sublocations can be imported into Finale in 2 ways:
1. Import > Sublocations (the very bottom of the dropdown menu)
2. Application Settings > Facility > Import sublocations (the blue button in the graphic, below)
Create and upload the data table
The import page shows supported columns (at the bottom), that you can include in your spreadsheet table for uploading to Finale. Required fields include: Sublocation, Location
Your spreadsheet table should include fields titled
1. Location
2. New Sublocation (this is the new value
3. Sublocation (this is the current value)
Make your spreadsheet table, such as in the below photo, then copy/paste into the "Paste Here" box on the import page.
On the following screen, your data table will be validated for potential errors. If your column names do match Finale's column names, you'll have the opportunity to specify which Finale column name is associated with each of your imported data columns in Finale.
If there is an error for a given data row, it'll show in the Import status, column. For example, the below import is showing an error that the specified Location for the sublocations you'd like to update does not exist, so the sublocations cannot be updated.
