Shipments are records used to represent the movement of multiple stock items in the system and include additional information about the movement including the estimated and actual pack, ship, and receive dates, the shipping carrier used, and intermediate locations the shipment is stored after it is packed. Shipments are associated with purchases, sales, returns, and transfers. Shipments have a common user interface for display, editing, and reporting.
Not all operations that affect stock levels are shipments. Quick stock changes, batch stock changes, stock takes, and quick stock transfers all affect stock levels but are not shipments.
