The report contains one row for each unique combination of values for the fields specified in the primary columns section of the report configuration. The generated report contains a column for each of these fields to display the value labeling each row.
The label field overrides the default column header in the report.
The width field for each row specifies the width of the generated column in inches.
The margin field specifies left and right margin the content of the column in inches.
The align field controls text alignment of the column.
The wrap field controls formatting when content a cell is wider than the column. Wrap means to add line breaks and display multiples lines. Clip means that the extra content is not output.
The barcode field allows the content of the field to by displayed as UPC/EAN or Code 128 symbology barcode. With UPC/EAN symbology only valid UPC/EAN numbers can be output. With Code 128 symbology there is an option to include the content of the field as text as well as the barcode.
Grouping options
The primary column grouping options Add group row when value changes, indent subsequent rows, Add group row when value changes, indent subsequent rows, add totals below, Page break when value changes, Page break when value changes, indent subsequent rows, Page break when value changes, indent subsequent rows, add totals below trigger the creation of group rows or page breaks. The group row or bage break triggers when the value for that column or any previous column changes.
For example, the following report:
Product:Manufacturer | Product:Category | Product:Product |
Acme | Cash Register | IB12314 |
Acme | Barcode Scanner | IB12315 |
Forte | Barcode Scanner | WP1243 |
Selecting the Page break when value changes option on the second column, Product: Category, causes the report to print on three pages. After the first row, the difference between the value "Cash Register" triggers the page break. After the second row, the Product: Category column is the same but the previous column, Product: Manufacturer contains different values ("Acme" vs "Forte"), and so a page break is trigger in this case as well.
