LEGACY USE ONLY - This article is only used for very old, Windows Mobile OS-based mobile scanning devices. This is not used with current Android-OS-based mobile devices and scanners.
A recent Microsoft Windows Update has pushed out by Microsoft has broken Windows Mobile Device Center, which is what Windows uses to communicate to the scanner over the USB cable/dock.
To fix this problem you will need to conduct the following:
1) Uninstall Windows Mobile Device Center AND any Mcafee/3rd party virus scanner (then Restart PC)
2) Re-Install Windows Mobile Device Center - https://www.microsoft.com/en-u
3) Download this file, save to your desktop, right-click and select "Run as Administrator" (once Complete, Restart the Computer) - https://drive.google.com/fi
4) Once rebooted, RESET the Mobile Scanner Pressing and holding the W key and C key down and while holding those two keys down, press and release the Red power button.
Then Dock the scanner and it should connect.
