It sounds like you are attempting to sync the scanner via 1. Sync and the scanner does not have an active connection to your wifi network.
Try the following:
1. Have you properly configured the unit to connect to your wireless network?

2. Is the scanner currently connected to your WiFi? There should be a Radio Tower looking like icon on the top line of the display with a left and right arrow.
3. Did the scanner go to sleep and turn off the WiFi radio? From the Windows Home screen of the scanner, look at the WiFi Status, it will say Wifi Off or Show you the SID/Access point name and a signal strength.
Go to Start, Settings, Connections, Wireless Manager(Radio Tower Icon) to turn the WiFi on.
4. Test your WiFi Connection. From Finale Data Collector Main Menu, go to 16. Test Wifi(may be 17 on an older version of the software).
