Please skip this resource if you do not plan to import your Supplier Catalog into Finale.
Your supplier catalog allows you to centralize your suppliers, or vendors, for all the items and services you receive to maintain your business.
A supplier catalog is an essential tool for any business that relies on a supply chain to operate. It is a compilation of products or services offered by a particular supplier, along with their respective prices, descriptions and other relevant information.
A supplier catalog can help to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement process, ultimately saving you time and money.
Supplier information can be associated to products to help users with reordering and purchase orders. This link of information is found in the product detail screen of your products, which can be added with a product import after you have your supplier catalog imported.
Please note that users must import their suppliers first before they can use a product import to link their product and supplier information. If the supplier entry doesn’t exist, then you cannot assign supplier 1 to a product.
There are two options to import your supplier catalog into Finale:
- Spreadsheet Import (Bulk)
- Create Single Supplier
How-to Import Suppliers Using Spreadsheet
The spreadsheet import option is the most common, especially considering how Finale separates address fields (address, city, state, postal code, etc) for each address type (billing, shipping, etc). You can import new suppliers or edit your existing suppliers with a simple spreadsheet.
How-to Create Single Supplier
Unlike the first option, this method is mostly used to create a supplier on the fly. This is not a bulk-entry method. This option is used to add or edit a single supplier.
