Can I Rename My Amazon Locations?
If you manage multiple Amazon accounts or different warehouse locations within Finale Inventory, you might find it helpful to rename your system locations to make them more distinguishable. While you cannot directly rename system locations, you can change the prefix for location names. This is particularly useful when multiple sublocations share the same name, allowing you to easily identify which location corresponds to which account.
How to Change the Location Prefix in Finale
You can modify the location names by changing the name for your Amazon integration. This will apply a prefix to all locations/sublocations associated with that integration, helping you distinguish between similar sublocation names.
Steps to Change the Prefix:
-
Navigate to the Integrations Page: Go to the Integrations section in your Finale account where your Amazon accounts are listed.
-
Edit the Integration Name: Select "Actions" for the Amazon account for which you want to update the name. Change the name in the "Integration Name" field to include the desired prefix (e.g., "Amazon US" or "Amazon EU").
-
Save Changes: After updating the integration name, save the changes. This will automatically update the prefixes for all system sublocations tied to that integration.
How the Prefix Affects System Locations
Once the integration name is updated, all sublocations under that Amazon account in Finale will be renamed with the new prefix. This change is reflected in the system, making it much easier to manage and distinguish between locations when viewing your inventory.
For example, if you have two Amazon accounts, "Amazon US" and "Amazon CA," your system locations will be updated as follows:
-
"Fulfillable" under "Amazon US" will now display as Amazon US Fulfillable.
-
"Fulfillable" under "Amazon CA" will now display as Amazon CA Fulfillable.
If you do not do this and have multiple Amazon accounts with FBA in FInale, then Finale will automatically append a letter to the end of the duplicated name such as Amazon A, Amazon B, etc.
This simple adjustment helps prevent confusion, especially when managing multiple accounts or similar sublocation names.
