Automated Transfer Shipments in Finale Inventory allow you to streamline the movement of inventory from your warehouse to Amazon FBA with minimal manual effort. To set this up correctly, you need to configure the Default Origin Sublocation in your Inventory sync for FBA task. This ensures that Finale pulls stock from the right location for every transfer.
It is recommended that you use the "Staged transfer shipments" process of creating a staging location for the initial import of historical shipments so that you do not negatively import your warehouse inventory levels. Once the initial import of historical shipments is completed then you can follow the settings below for automated transfers.
Steps to Set Up Automated Transfer Shipments
-
Navigate to the FBA Integration Settings:
- In Finale Inventory, go to the Integrations section from the main navigation bar.
-
Locate Your Inventory sync for FBA Task:
- Under the integrations page, find and select the Inventory sync for FBA task related to your Amazon integration. This task is responsible for syncing inventory levels and creating transfer orders.
-
Edit the Task Configuration:
- Select Actions on this task and, click on Edit task configuration. This allows you to modify the settings for how your inventory is managed and transferred.
-
Set the Default Origin Sublocation:
- Scroll down within the task configuration settings until you find the option labeled Default Origin Sublocation.
- Set this to the Main sublocation, or the specific sublocation where your stock is stored. This is important because Finale will use this location to pull inventory for automated transfers to Amazon FBA.
- After setting the default origin sublocation, save your changes. Finale will now use this sublocation as the origin point for all automated transfer shipments to Amazon.
-
Monitor Your Automated Transfers:
- Once the setup is complete, Finale will automatically create transfer orders using the Main sublocation as the default stock source. Regularly review these orders to ensure that your inventory is moving as expected.
Best Practices for Automated Transfers
- Keep Your Main Sublocation Stocked: Ensure that the sublocation you’ve set as the default is well-stocked, as Finale will rely on this for all transfers.
- Review Transfer Orders: Periodically check the automated transfer orders generated by Finale to make sure everything is running smoothly.
- Update as Needed: If your stock location changes, don’t forget to update the Default Origin Sublocation in the Inventory sync for FBA task.
