Staged Transfer Shipments offer more control over your inventory by allowing you to transfer stock to a temporary staging location before it is sent to Amazon FBA.
Steps to Set Up Staged Transfer Shipments
-
Navigate to Application Settings:
- In Finale Inventory, go to Application Settings located at the top right of any screen.
-
Create a Staging Warehouse and Transfer Pending Sublocation:
- Select Facility from the settings options.
- Create a new location called Staging Warehouse (or another name that fits your workflow).
- Within the Staging Warehouse, create a sublocation called Transfer Pending. This sublocation will temporarily hold your inventory before it is transferred to Amazon FBA.
-
Update the Integration for Transfer Shipments:
- Once the staging warehouse and Transfer Pending sublocation are created, navigate to the Integrations section.
- Find the task titled Inventory Sync for FBA and click Edit Configuration.
-
Set the Default Origin Sublocation to Transfer Pending:
- Scroll down the configuration page to the Default Origin Sublocation option.
- Change the default origin sublocation to the newly created Transfer Pending sublocation within your staging warehouse.
-
Create Transfer Orders to Move Inventory to the Staging Location:
- In Finale Inventory, create a transfer order to move stock from your main warehouse to the Transfer Pending sublocation.
- Once the inventory reaches the staging location, it will be ready for the next step in the transfer process.
-
Monitor and Complete the Transfer to Amazon FBA:
- After the inventory is staged, Finale Inventory will automatically sync with Amazon to transfer the stock to FBA when necessary. You can review the staged inventory before it moves to Amazon, allowing for verification and adjustment if needed.
- Once the transfer is complete, Finale will update the inventory levels both in the staging location and in Amazon FBA.
Best Practices for Staged Transfers
- Verify Stock Before Transfer: Use the staging process to double-check inventory levels, ensuring accuracy before shipping to Amazon.
- Monitor Staging Inventory: Keep track of inventory in the Transfer Pending location to prevent delays in sending it to Amazon.
- Adjust Workflow as Needed: If your operational needs change, update the staging location and transfer settings accordingly in Finale.
