The replenishment tool in Finale is very useful for reallocating your inventory to the needed warehouse, sourcing from a different warehouse in Finale.
Similarly to reordering, the prerequisite for this tool is to populate your reordering details. This can be the manual reorder point method or the sales velocity forecasting method.
Once this step is configured (in the example above, warehouse 2 has reorder points established), you can utilize the replenishment screen to create a transfer automatically.
- This is where you set the origin, or in other words, where the inventory will be coming from
- By default, this is your remaining after reservations quantity. This is important to pay attention to so you don't transfer more inventory than you can. For example, if you have 10 units on hand, but 9 units reserved, your remaining inventory would simply be 1. You should not transfer more than 1 because it will impact your ability to fulfill the orders.
- This is where you set the destination, or in other words, where the inventory will be going
- This is a filter that when cleared can show you all products. By default, it filters just to products that need to be transferred. If you want to include other items that aren't being recommended, clearing this filter out will allow you to also check them.
- This group (Origin) has several useful columns that display details specific to the location specified as origin. The sales velocity and sales history are useful to understand what sort of demand you'll have for the inventory, and if it should be transferred. The third column is a breakdown of the inventory at that location, and lastly, the stockout is how many days you can go before running out of inventory at that location (based on sales velocity).
- This section is similar to the origin section (#5) but shows details relevant to the destination location.
- This column shows the criteria for the reordering, such as the reorder point, calculated reorder max, and the variance, which is how many units you're below the reorder point.
- This column shows how many units need to be transferred, based on the reorder configuration
Once the item list is populated, the next step is to choose the products that you'll be transferring and then create a transfer.
- The first step is to check the box next to the row that you'd like to populate on the transfer. You can use the select all box or go line by line and check the row.
- Once you've selected the products, you'll use the blue button to create the transfer order.
Next, a popup modal will appear to review the details, confirm the origin and destination, and to specify the transfer order ID
- Either choose to use a system generated order ID or enter your own
- Use the confirmation button to create a transfer order.
The next screen that you will see is the transfer order.
