When it comes to using the Reordering and Replenishment screens in Finale, you'll see that the second-last column on both of these is called Recommended quantity.
This quantity is calculated by the system based on the reorder point for each product. However you're not bound to using these quantities! If you prefer to round up, round down, or use an entirely different quantity altogether, you can enter in in directly on these screens.
Reordering Screen
- The Recommended quantity refers to the quantity of each product that you should be ordering from your Suppliers based on the reorder variables entered in (ex: the min/max quantities or the system-calculated sales velocity reorder quantity).
- When you select a product to be part of your Purchase Order, you'll see that the Quantity to order column is auto-populated with the Recommended quantity figure.
- You can overwrite the Quantity to order by simply clicking into this field and typing your desired quantity in - be sure to click off the field to lock in your change.
- When you click on the Create purchase button to go forward with creating your Purchase Order, you'll see your revised quantity pull forward. The quantities in the Quantity to order column will always be the ones that are used when you create a Purchase Order from this screen.
Replenishment Screen
- On the Replenishment screen, the Recommended quantity refers to the quantity of each product that you should be transferring between your facilities. This is also based on the reorder quantities entered in against each product (ex: the min/max quantities or the system-calculated sales velocity reorder quantity).
- Similarly, when you opt to add products to your transfer, the Recommended quantity will auto-populate in the Transfer quantity column. By clicking into this field and typing into it, you can adjust the Transfer quantity to your desired number, and click off the field to lock in your change.
- The quantities in the Transfer quantity column will pull forward onto your Transfer Order once you click on the blue Create transfer order button.
