Finale contains a feature allowing you to import your products and/or stock levels directly from an integration such as WooCommerce, Amazon, Shopify, etc.
Before you import any products, it is required that you first have all of your products set up with a unique SKU. This is used to create new products in Finale. Any products without a SKU will create a warning to notify you the product needs to be updated in your eCommerce site and will not be created (or updated) within Finale.
*NOTE: If you have different SKUs across your marketplaces for the same product, do not use the import products feature. Finale will create a new product for every unique SKU.
Enabling the Task
To import products, you'll first need to add your integration. Once you do, you'll be able to configure the import products feature. Once you're finished with the configuration settings, you can safely change the status to Manual or Automatic. It is not advised to change the status before making the changes to the other configuration options.
Once your integration is set up, you can turn on the import products and make the task manual (triggered to run when you initiate run task now), or automatically (existing products will update throughout the day, and new products will be created nightly). If you are running in automatic and need to have products created now, instead of at the nightly job, use "Run Task Now" in the actions drop down menu.
Currently, the following product attributes are created when products are imported.
- Product ID
- Product Description
- Item Price
- Image
- UPC & EAN
- ASIN (Amazon)
Configuring the Task
Finale can be configured to import and/or update ALL products, or only new products. This is particularly useful when creating a new product on a marketplace that you would want Finale to automatically create in our system.
Each attribute has 3 settings:
- Do Not Update (Does not update this field for new or existing products. This is useful if you want the integration to update details but don't want to use the marketplaces product name, such as Amazon's, which often times doesn't match the sellers preferred description)
- Import for New Product Only (Only updates this field when a new product is created in Finale)
- Import for All Products (Updates this attribute for existing and new products
If you choose to update the Product Lookup, Finale will also automatically add the store, so you'll immediately be able to push stock levels to your integration once you have stock imported.
Importing Initial Stock Levels
In addition to being able to create and/or update the products, Finale can also download the stock levels from the marketplace and update the stock values within Finale (both for FBM and FBA type listings).
*NOTE: This feature is designed to bring in initial stock levels. Finale will always act as your inventory master, so once the products are set up and configured, all stock changes must be done within Finale, and Finale will update your marketplaces (not the other way around).
When importing stock levels, you first need to choose which products will be updated, and then what sublocation the stock will be updated at. Each stock import will be done as a STOCK TAKE for that sublocation.
To learn how to regularly import and update the FBA stock levels within your account, follow the instructions here:
