How do I use the keyboard on the Android Mobile Barcode Scanner app?

When you use the Finale Inventory mobile barcode scanning app on the Android OS platform you will instantly want to touch the screen where a text box appears in the application and expect the on-screen keyboard to appear.  It will not do this. This is by design because several of the text boxes in the app will react to your touch and present you with options to do some action or select something from a list, so it will not invoke the keyboard.   So, get the keyboard to appear, click on the top menu bar where it says "Keyboard". This will open the on-screen keyboard and allow you type.  Touch it again to make it disappear.

* NOTE: If you are not successful in displaying the keyboard when you touch the "Keyboard" link or when you type the characters you type do not show up in the text box of the app, you may have an Android OS based phone or device that has a compatibility issue with its keyboard software.   Please see this article for a solution to resolve the issue.
