How do I delete or deactivate products?

Products cannot be deleted! Instead you'll deactivate the product, which serves the purpose in Finale of deleting it.  Deactivating a product will modify its product status from 'Active' to 'Inactive'.  Basically, you're letting Finale know that this product is inactive and will therefore not be viewable or usable in purchase orders or sales orders and its stock will not push to your selling channels.

Three ways in Finale to change Product Status (activating/deactivating a product)

1. Deactivate a particular product on its Product Details page via Actions > Deactivate.

2. Deactivate multiple products from the Products view using Finale's multi-select functionality.

3. Deactivate multiple products using Finale's Bulk Import Products tool

You can access this import tool from the Products view screen or from the top menu bar under "Import". Using a spreadsheet, paste the data in (the product IDs and product statuses that we are updating).  For example, the below products currently have product status 'Active', and we'd like to mark them as 'Inactive'.  Copy the data, click the 'Paste Here' box in Finale's import tool, then press Ctrl+v or Cmd+v (Mac) to paste.
